Sweet Treats on the Central Coast

In the current climate, a trip to France and its world-famous patisseries, is out of the question. But a trip to the Central Coast, and the newly-opened Bouffant Bakery, at two locations in Gosford, may be just what the doctor ordered!

Trained in France, Bouffant’s head patissier, Marcus, whips up a delectable and daily array of pastries, from plain to custard-filled croissants and donuts, Portuguese tarts, macarons, and a selection of crispy danishes. With two different sizes on offer, at a very affordable price-point, patrons are encouraged to sample more than one of these delicious creations. And make sure you don’t leave without trying the signature pastry, ‘the bouffant’ which oozes with layers of homemade pastry, lemon curd, and lashings of creamy Italian meringue!

What’s sweet and fluffy, and melts in your mouth? You guessed it – marshmallows! And churning out over forty different, gourmet, flavours, is The Marshmallow Co in Wyong.

Owner-operators and husband and wife team, Brea and Joel, are the brains behind this sweet spot which has grown to become a popular destination for both big, and little, people. On offer is a selection of handmade marshmallow flavours, from banoffee pie, to raspberry and white chocolate.

Situated in a cute little cottage, The Marshmallow Co has also recently established a dessert bar, with seating in a courtyard, overlooking the historic Chapman Building. The marshmallow-heavy menu includes Belgian waffles, topped with marshmallow creme, to the popular American-style s’mores with marshmallow and chocolate encased in a homemade biscuit sandwich. At The Marshmallow Co, the s’more you eat, the s’more you want!
