Celebrate all things equestrian at the Warburton Estate Agents Scone Horse Festival from 8th – 17th May 2026, with ten days of exciting events. The festival pays homage to all breeds and equine skills including thoroughbreds, Australian Stock horses, draught horses, polo, dressage and horse sports, as well as the people who breed and work with them.
The historic town of Scone is known as the “Horse Capital of Australia”. Located in the beautiful Upper Hunter Country, it’s the birthplace of more than 50% of Australia’s thoroughbred racehorses, and the Hunter region is internationally renowned as a champion breeding ground, recognized alongside Kentucky, USA and Newmarket, England.
Join this passionate community for exciting and educational equine events including the Scone Equine Hospital Horse Festival Parade, HTBA Thoroughbred Stud Tours, farrier demonstrations, Ladbrokes Golf Day, AGL Picnic by the Lake, JBS finale fireworks and the Scone Racing Carnival. This year’s carnival celebrates 80 years of racing tradition at the Scone Race Club. Don’t miss the festivities at the Arrowfield Scone Cup Race Day on Friday 15th May and the Arrowfield Dark Jewel Classic on Saturday 16th May.
