Cronulla Clay-tivities

In the modern world – where everything is computer-generated or automated, making something with your hands is rare. But one man, in Cronulla, is bucking the trend – Mont Ceramic is where people can unleash their inner potter!

At Mont Ceramic, Owner-operator, Nick, has created an inclusive, and inviting, creative space – described as ‘the closest thing to Toulouse, this side of the Tom Ugly’s Bridge’. Everyone gets their own potting wheel, and Nick is on-hand to teach and support budding potters to ‘throw’, ‘trim’ and ‘glaze’ their bespoke ceramic pieces, which are then kiln-fired on site. There are ‘wheel classes’ and ‘hand-building classes’ for both beginners, and for kids. For the experienced potter, it’s a communal space to come and create. Nick also runs pottery parties for groups, where you can BYO wine to add to the experience and enjoyment. Best of all, you get to leave with your hand-made ceramic bowl, mug, or other item, to keep or give as the perfect gift!
