Esplanade Eats

With one of the country’s most famous beaches in its front yard and the best harbour in the world in its backyard, it’s easy to see why Manly is among Sydney’s most alluring suburbs. This weekend Candice explores the Esplanade between these wondrous waterways and uncovers two of its mainstay eateries.

Wharf Bar is located on the iconic Manly Wharf and is a favourite amongst locals and visitors alike thanks to its sweeping harbour views and exceptional food. Having undergone an extensive renovation, Bar Tropic is the establishment’s newest dining area and offers an awesome array of Pizza’s, Taco’s, Breads and Dips, and as Candice discovers, a delightful and delicious Salmon Poke Bowl that encapsulates the seaside vibe of Manly.

A stone’s throw away, along the enchanting Esplanade, is the Manly Pavilion Restaurant. This fine dining establishment is situated on the top floor of the historical heritage-listed Pavilion building and offers unrivalled harbour views and extraordinary cuisine. Join Candice as she samples some of Sydney’s best seafood, including Crab Toast, a mouth-watering Kingfish Civiche, Bay Bug Linguine and a superb Swordfish Steak. With just enough room for dessert, Candice finishes her Esplanade expedition with a dessert known only as ‘Lemon’; a dish that definitely has to be seen to be believed!
