Hit the Dirt on the Northern Beaches

Bikes plus dirt plus bush equals BMX. Why not jump in your car – in our case the strong and stylish ISUZU MU-X – and head out to the Manly Warringah BMX Club in Terrey Hills?

The club was founded as a place for keen riders to compete, but when the club isn’t racing it’s open to the community. There’s an all-weather pump track to practice and hone your skills, but it’s the main track that takes the biscuit. Dirt hills for gnarly jumps and asphalt burns to really get the speed going round the bends.

After testing the tracks, we’re strapping the bikes back on the MU-X and heading for a drive in the Ku-ring-gai National Park. We’re off to Cottage Point to soak up the scenery and taste the treats at the Cottage Point Kiosk and Boat Hire.

The view is phenomenal and the food is the perfect match, especially the seafood specialties of the house. You must try the Aussie mussels steamed with tomato, garlic and chilli and the fish curry, a slab of Barramundi in a deliciously spicy curry sauce.

Take a boat out on the bay, or just enjoy the drive home through the bush. Either way, you’ll have had a great day out with a difference.
