The Basin

One hour from the city, but also a whole world away… immersed in nature, with an abundance of wildlife and natural beauty! Sounds like the perfect weekender!

The Basin is a beautiful little pocket of the Ku-ring-gai National Park in Sydney’s north, and the only place you can camp in this national park. The only access is by boat or ferry (or a 4km hike!). There are no shops so you have to bring everything in yourself, but the awesome people at Ecotreasures can actually supply and set up your campsite for you, so all you need to bring is a sleeping bag and pillow!

They also have SUPs, Kayaks and Snorkels for you to borrow to explore the stunning waterways at The Basin and immerse yourself in the natural environment even more!

The Basin is a great day trip destination and even better enjoyed if you can stay overnight.  You’ll also need to being food and drinks, but the lovely Captain Moss from Cellar by Sea can also help out with that and bring a gorgeous fresh seafood lunch to enjoy in one of the many stunning spots at The Basin.

It’s the simple life, but with a few little added extras to really make it a weekend to remember!
