If anyone can make the ridiculous sublime, it’s Mozart. The last in his celebrated trilogy of operas, Così fan tutte is an absurd story set to exquisite music which sets the stage for a captivating drama about love and loss.
David McVicar’s acclaimed production is set in the early 1900s, with ravishing costumes of the period and a set bathed in glorious sunlight, reflecting the last summer of innocence before war shatters the 20th century.
